To honor Helen Sisney on Mother’s Day, her daughter, Sherry Sisney, Courtney Sisney, Jeff Sisney and Mrs. As they left the church, each woman was given a potted plant, a gift from Carol and Dave Bridgewater. Shead, Larry and Vickie Shead, Charles Corporon, from Tulsa, Okla., were Marie and Clayton Liston, Mitzi and Joel Ray, Atalie, Ryan, Cademon Ray and friend Jody, Ralph and Cindy Shead of Carl Junction, Mo., Matthew and Ashley Shead of Joplin. Others present were Mary V. Williams were united in marriage by the late G.W. Andon Younge played his guitar and sang two original songs that he dedicated to his mother, Leora Younge. He is the youngest of their nine grandchildren. Mark Shead, Katy and Benjamin, fort Scott, spent Mother’s Day with her mother, D.J. and Mrs. and Mrs. Clay Carrington made the announcements and led singing. Mr. Corporon, Arcadia, who was then pastoring the Christian Church in Bronaugh, Mo., where the couple was living. Mothers in the Arcadia Christian Church received special attention Sunday with songs, prayers, a sermon and gift-giving. Special guests at church Sunday morning were Marsha Harris, Kalvin Powell, Rueben Grant and 16 friends and relatives of Mary V. Shead who occupied the first three rows Sunday morning. After Mother’s Day services Sunday at the Arcadia Christian Church, members of the Shead family went to the Shead farm in rural Garland for dinner prepared by the men and a special dessert provided by friend Rose Campbell, Pittsburg. Chris Payne and two young sons had dinner Sunday at the Rocking K, Cockerill. The children of Earl and Marilyn Williams will honor the 60th wedding anniversary of their parents with an open reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Davis, in Texas. Jack and Mary Lee Payne recently attended Lane Carpenter’s seventh birthday party at the Carpenter home in Raymore, Mo. Mr. June 2 at the Fort Scott Community Christian Church. Also attending were David and Amy Jo Carpenter, Drew Carpenter, Steve, Kelly, Ben, Faith and Elijah Base, Ron and Cindy Morton, Sherry and Courtney Sisney and Jaxson Payne and Antaun, Kimberlee, Madison, Isaiah and Malloree Peppers. |
